Senior Operations Analyst – AR
About the Role
As a Senior Operations Analyst – AR, you will take ownership of accounts receivable performance by managing aging reports, performing timely follow-ups with payers, identifying denial trends and ensuring accurate documentation within RCM systems. You will support continuous improvement, collaborate with internal teams to address billing/documentation gaps and ensure timely reimbursement for services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform AR follow-ups across aging buckets (0-120+ days)
- Manage complex denials and initiate appeals when required
- Coordinate with payers via phone/portals for claim resolution
- Document outcomes and update billing notes accurately
- Escalate trends and unresolved issues to team leads
- Support junior analysts with guidance and training
- Ensure compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
- Assist in developing AR optimization strategies
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Higher National Diploma required; advanced education preferred
- 3-5 years of AR/medical billing experience (US healthcare)
- Strong knowledge of payer policies (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial)
- Familiarity with CPT/ICD codes, EOB/ERA review and appeal workflows
- Experience in EMR/RCM systems and insurance portals
- Excellent communication, problem-solving & follow-up skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and high-volume workloads
